“PC games are popular around the world today, but Japan is not a good place for PC gaming”, Long Ha Bui said.

Bui, an APU second-year student who majors in APM from Vietnam, and he has been playing many video games and PC games since he was 15 years old.
Bui loves to play games. “My first game was Super Mario Bros,” he said. “I played it many times, and I started to play various games.”
While Bui knows many kinds of games regardless of the country and game consoles, he doesn’t have game consoles like a PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch. He plays games by using the PC or smartphone.
“In the first place, PC games are more popular than console games in Vietnam.” He explained, “It is the minority to play the console game compared to PC games.”
“Also, there are a lot of the Internet cafés like a PC Bang,” he said. PC Bang is a type of LAN gaming center, it opens in some countries, such a Vietnam, China, Korea, and European countries. “Many Vietnamese people often go there and play games.”

Recently, however PC games require the ability of PC to let it smooth for playing. In addition, high grade and strong PCs that players can play comfortably are very expensive. “If you have no strong computer, Internet café is the comfortable space for PC gamers,” he said.
And then, Bui explained that some people have PC games but go to the Internet café. “I have a strong computer, and I play games every day in my home,” he said. “I go to the PC Bang when I play games with my friends.”
Furthermore, Internet café functions as a communication tool for people. He told that “There are some cases that boss and employees in the company play games there in order to make relationships.”
As he said, PC gaming culture is more general for Vietnamese people than Japanese. Then, he explained why PC games are popular.
“Console games are exclusive compared with PC games,” he said. In fact, there are some cases that people who don’t have a game console can’t play games. “Especially, most of Nintendo games are very exclusive!”
Also, many Japanese games can’t allow people to download on the PC. Bui guessed that Japan is not good for playing PC game because of that.
Bui enjoys playing PC games every day, but he is very interested in other console games, especially Japanese console games. He wants them to allow PC gamers to play soon. “I don’t hate Japanese games, but I can’t play Japanese console games. I want to download Japanese console games to my PC.”
