During August 2017, security office decided to charge students for laundry, and now students have to pay 100 yen per 30 minutes. Many Spring semester students are outraged about this change.
If students decide to wash their clothes every day, the expenses will add up to about 3,000 yen per month. APU students are already living with a lack of money.
Spring semester students have been living for half a year without paying for laundry. This sudden change made by the office will highly impact with their daily lives. The security office still hasn't explained why they made this change to the residents of AP House.
One victim of this change named Ryo H. stated that “The dryers don't even dry. I have to put 500 yen to dry my clothes yet my clothes are still wet and smelly. This is a scam. I can buy 5 onigiris at coop with 500 yen. This is truly unacceptable.”
On the other hand, a Fall semester student, Jeong Tae Hwan mentioned “I thought this was normal to everyone but after hearing from the Spring semester students that it was originally free, I feel like I am treated unfairly. When I was in Korea, my parents made me do laundry twice a day but after coming to APU, this only happens twice a month.”
Akash Mallick shared his opinion on the security office changing the policy without notifying the residents. Akash Mallick said “I am not concerned about the policy change itself but the office not telling us the reason why this change has been made seems a little suspicious as a resident and will like them to explain further details about this laundry issue.”
Why has not office explained the reason?
ReplyDeleteI wonder why the office has to change it secretly.
Is there anyone who refutes because it was free until now, right?
ReplyDeleteDoes this system already started in AP house 1&2? That's so strange. Are there any plans or actions that students have for free laundry again?
ReplyDeleteActually, I lived in AP House two years ago, so I didn't know this problem.
ReplyDeleteAfter reading this news, I thought it is good to present their opinion stronger to the office and make sure them to explain why they started this system.
Is laundry chaned the new one?
ReplyDeleteI also thought that why security office doesn't explain t to AP house residents. A laundry near my house can dry clothes enough at 500 yen. Using 500 yen at one time is expensive for students, so security office needs to tell the cause and result this issue. Why they don't explain about that?
ReplyDeleteWhy does APU makes me feel that they want to make more money? Sadly
