National Cultural Festival, Japan's largest cultural event, one of prefecture are chosen every year and hold some cultural event was held Nov 4 in Oita this year.

Oita Station was bustling, and nice smelling during Oita Global Station event. Oita Global Station  is one of the event of National Cultural Festival. The purpose of this event is to emphasize how multicultural Oita is. The festival is organized by university student from a variety of countries. More than 20 groups sold international food and products and many students performed on stage near the shops.

One club called APU Eisa Team Ityariba sold sata-andagi (doughnut) and sanpin-cya (Jasmine tea).  Eisa is Okinawa’s traditional dance and sata-andagi and sanpin-cya are famous Okinawan food. At the event, Ityariba prepared four flavors of sata-andagi (normal, coffee, green-tea, and cocoa) and sold them for 50 yen each. Sanpin-cya was 100 yen each. Also, they made a set-menu of sata-andagi and sanpin-cya.

This is the second time for Ityariba to sell products. When they sold sata-andagi and sanpin-cya at school festival, they lost money. For this time they wanted to make profit. Ityariba predicts that  people may be interested in rare food and region. In addition, sata-andagi and Jasmine tea are sold in supermarket recently. Ityariba needed to considered about menu and price to make differences from others.

They could not sell all of food, but they got into the black. Every member of Ityariba tried their best to sell. A day after the event Ityariba accountant Kazuma Aguni believes the event was a great success.

Most festivals are held at noon, and TV show broadcast them nationwide. The Japanese emperor visit every place every year. Next year will be Niigata prefecture. people at the festival this think it will be a wonderful event.
