Grand Show of Myanmar Week started with pleasant dance and music performed by APU students wearing traditional costume. It took place in APU millennium hall on the last day of Myanmar week, Dec. 22.

The main performance of the show is drama including dances to convey Myanmar culture and traditions whose theme is Golden. This is a story of two siblings who were forcefully killed by the selfish king and queen, but because of their pureness, they turned into spirit guardians with golden faces. In the show, there is no romance and horror, which is different from the general show. Visitors sometimes laughed for example when the king's advisor made fun of the queen while there were some serious situations that he tried to help the sister of the Black Smith who is a villager when she was caught by the king and queen. "I wanna make something right.", the advisor said to the sister.

Zaw Myo Win, the director of the drama, said the appealing point was to show the belief Burmese people thorough watching the real dances and listening to the real music which most people won't learn by getting just knowledge from research.

The preparation began October involved making the script and the performers had done rehearsing for the show since mid-November. The number of the player is about 30 and they had practiced three times a week which each practice had at least 1 hour.

In the practice, they had a time which is fun and lively when they were always making jokes and helping each other without any people leaving out even though they practiced seriously. Saw said it was important that everyone understands and keeps in mind what they have signed up for because the drama team and all the dancers have to work so much in order to be able to develop the play which requires everyone's participation and commitment.

At the end, the performers and the organizers stood on the stage and the grand show of Myanmar week, the last multicultural week in APU, came to the end with a round of applause of the audience to them.
