by Makiko Akita

Japan Business Case Challenge (JBCC) 2017 was held in APU from Nov. 6 to Dec. 3, and eleven teams participated in it from various universities. JBCC is a Case Competition carried out by foreign business schools as part of education for Japanese undergraduate students.  In Case Competition, participants suggest and present solutions to the management issues by using sponsor's case study, and superiority and inferiority of the quality is decided.

The first day, participants checked in AP house2 and joined orientation, workshop, and dinner party. The second day, after opening ceremony was held, they received the case and started to make presentations. The third day, qualification was carried out and finalists were decided. The final day, three finalist teams presented over two hours. The examination results were "Peace Okamura" from Aoyama Gakuin University, Keio Gijuku University and so on took third place, "RASTY" from Ritsumeikan University took second place, and the champion was "Office Workers" from APU.

Office Workers' presentation
Nina Hamaguchi, first-year-APM student, the member of Office Workers, was glad and surprised to get first prize. She said that she knew that it would be difficult to challenge JBCC, but she wanted to implement and deepen what she learned from management class, so she tried it. Nina felt it was tough to make a presentation while unifying all members thought.  She also said they took lots of times to prepare because all of teammates were first-year students and they don't have enough knowledge.
