Kawori Nakano joined the study abroad program Stay Ahead held in Cebu, Philippines, for six weeks last summer.

Last semester, her Rsident Assistant (RA) who went to Philippines last year introduced the program to her. Originally, she was going to visit the U.S. or other countries, but after she knew the Stay Ahead, she decided to go study abroad because she had never been to Philippines.

The main purpose of Stay Ahead is improving English skills such as reading and listening, particularly speaking. In addition, she said that she learned about Philippines culture as well.

She said a lot of people in Cebu are friendly to strangers, and they always smiling. Moreover, she was attracted to Philippines food and nature. There are many delicious and cheap food, and beautiful landscapes. She ate popular food Balot and swam with a whale shark in the sea.
